Mummification
The Ancient Egyptians mummified their dead. First the organs were removed, all exempt the heart. Next the body was salted and dried. After that cloth was stuffed inside the body to keep it’s shape. Then the body was oiled. Lots of bandages were wrapped tightly on the body. The reason why is so that the body wouldn't rot away. A priest always supervised the mummification process. The priest sent dead spirits to the next world. He touched the body with special instruments. The body was placed in a case, some were wooden others beautifully decorated. Important people such as the pharaoh were placed in a stone coffin.
