Mummification

Walt: write an information report.
Mummification

The Ancient Egyptians mummified their dead. First the organs were removed, all exempt the heart. Next the body was salted and dried. After that cloth was stuffed inside the body to keep it’s shape. Then the body was oiled. Lots of bandages were wrapped tightly on the body. The reason why is so that the body wouldn't rot away. A priest always supervised the mummification process. The priest sent dead spirits to the next world. He touched the body with special instruments. The body was placed in a case, some were wooden others beautifully decorated. Important people such as the pharaoh were placed in a stone coffin.

Ancient Egypt

Ancient Egypt lies east of Libya and west of Israel. This is where the earliest civilization begun.

The River Nile
The River Nile is 6,670km in length. It is the longest river in the world. The Nile flows into the Mediterranean Sea. Without the River Nile this civilization wouldn't exist. The River Nile was great for food. It provided fish and sustainable to grow crops. The River was good for travelling from place to place. Along side of the Nile was the papyrus reeds. These reeds were made into paper. The name Nile comes from the Greek word ‘nelios’, which means valley.

Area was easy for me to work out then perimeter. The main point of this game is to just match the area and perimeter of each item.

Mum stepped

Walt: use better words
Mum stepped...

Mum stepped in a cruise ship and inhaled the nice, salty air. “Honey, do we really have to go on this honeymoon?” questioned Dad, rolling his eyes. “Yes, we have to!” demanded Mum. “I just hope our kids are being extremely exceptional behaviour while we’re gone”. Meanwhile at home, the kids were savaged beasts in jungle.

While mum was unloading the luggage, Dad was too busy distressing about shipwrecks and unknown creatures plotting to destroy this ship. He had a pale face mixed with gloomy eyes and nail-chopping teeth. “Hon, don’t to worry”, mum said with a warm voice “you really shouldn’t distress about creatures or shipwrecks nothing is going to happen”.

A few hours later, there was a rock. Next another rock, but more forceful than the last. “Oh my god! We’re going to die!” Dad screeched repeatedly. All of sudden there was a colossal octopus. It was a bloodshot red, with tempestuous eyes and an agonizing stare. The air was filled with bellows and snivelling sounds. “Everyone hurry, to the docks now!” demanded the captain.

Everyone quickly scrambled to the docks. Abruptly, Dad just stood there. frozen almost. The panic made him completely, glued his feet to the ground. Long story short, Dad got gobbled by the gigantic squid.

A scribe in Ancient Egypt

Walt: write in paragraphs.
A scribe in Ancient Egypt

Today I am a scribe in Ancient Egypt . I am a  person who reads and writes for the pharaoh. I had to become a scribe because my father was one.

I started scribe school when I was only 6. My school was held in a Temple courtyard. I spent eight years studying hieroglyphs. I had to learn over 800 symbols. My desk was the floor. Papyrus was very expensive, so instead I had to write on broken pottery. I spent a lot of time remembering the hieroglyphs and symbols.

The tool I used is the reed brushes, white linen kilt, my wooden board that holds all my inks. I‘m inks by grinding coloured minerals into powder, then mixing with some liquid to apply on the papyrus easily.

My job is mainly keeping records and write and copy religious text. I live a wealthy lifestyle and highly respected everyday.

Jump Rope

Walt: write a report.

At Glen Innes School there was a Jump Rope show, to show support the Heart Foundation and the parents.  All the classes from Glen Innes School were in the hall. This lively event happened after 12:40pm, this was after lunch break.

Every classes routine was organized and agitated. The routines lasted for  at least 3-4 minutes. Room 11 had an interesting act. It was a student jumping on a scooter while skipping. Every class was cheered by the classes who were seated.

The music was a mix of modern pop and old classic. All the classes used suitable music for the routines. There was a lot of energy in the air because the students were either singing or dancing to the music. Everyone was enjoying their time from all the alluring performances.

The sphinx

The sphinx

The great sphinx was the 4th dynasty by Pharaoh Khafre. But archaeologist and geologist have evidence that the sphinx is far older than king Khafre. That king Khafre only restored during his reign.
The sphinx was badly damaged by severe flooding and high wind weather, it’s been through this extreme weather for five thousand years.

There is a chamber on the fore paw of the sphinx. It was not found until the 1980’s Edgar Cayce, found some drilled holes on the head of the sphinx. It created tunnels leading to the ‘Hall of Records’ as it was known.

Should soft drugs be decriminalized?

Walt: write an opinion
Should soft drugs be decriminalised?

I strongly believe that soft drugs should be decriminalised because drugs do make horrible damage to the body physically and mentally. For one, by having lots friends take drugs, that influence you to take as well, only if their self esteem is confident enough. If drugs were to be decriminalised, people will just buy from ordinary shops. In this way, the police will get a break from the stupid drug addicts and concentrate on other more important cases.

Ratio blaster

Walt: Match the ratio to the fraction spaceships.

This game is testing converting ratios into fractions. The way I find out the answer is I turn the ratio into a fraction. If the fraction is not on one of the spaceships, I simplify the fraction and that will be the answer. I think that this game is really simple and easy for me.
