Walt: write a narrative.
A game to remember
Screams of the schools cheers filled the auditorium. Perspiration dripped from the children's’ faces. The pressure to win was getting heavier and heavier. It’s close game. A really close game. It was 14 to 12. GI was down two points. Weymouth had 14 points. That was a perfect final.
Bounce. Bounce. Pass. Shoot. Another goal for Weymouth. What a surprise! With such skill they’re bound to win. The pressure for GI to win was getting even greater now. The doubts of losing were flowing into the GI girls’ minds. But the doubts then were turned into fuel to win. Another pass, bounce and SHOOT. Finally, a goal for GI. GI students roared and cheered even louder. So loud that we couldn’t hear Weymouth cheer at all. The GI players spirits were lifted.
BOOM! Silence. I think someone fell. Oh yes, a tall girl from GI. She’s crying and a coach is carrying her off the court. It seemed that a Weymouth girl ‘accidently pushed her’. The players on the court felt pity for her. SHOOT! What was that! Surprise, surprise. Weymouth got another goal, this is not good sign. Now GIs’ coach is belching out commands “ protect the goal, “or “get into space, stop bunching up.”
One minute is left, the girls’ faces are scrunched as if it were made of paper. Concentration was high. The referee lifted the ball and . . . . . DROP! Weymouth snatched the ball. They bounced the ball, fifty three seconds left. They passed it, forty eight seconds left. OH-NO! GI just stole the ball, thirty two seconds left. Bounce, bounce twenty five seconds left. They passed, seventeen seconds now. Running to the goal, 6 5 4 3 2. . . . . . . . . a goal for GI. HOORAY! GI has won. I repeat GI has won. And the crowd goes wild. GI walked out of the courts with such elation that they looked like they were flying. Smiles and handshakes followed.
