Diggity

Walt: retell the story.

It was a frantic morning when Anna's parents were searching for the lid of the chilly bin. Mum was looking around the washing machine and saw a blue dish-like object. “I found it,” shouted Anna’s mum. “ It was behind the washing machine “. Outside, Diggity, their pet dog was sitting in the car his face outside the window. He was staring at a soggy biscuit that Lucy was eating. Finally, the family was packed and ready to go to the beach.

When they arrived, Ann’s Dad got the deck chairs out and planted himself down. Anna’s Mum grabbed a woman’s weekly magazine and sat on the other chair. Anna saw a two teenage boys playing and a girl sunbathing. There were not much people on the beach.

But suddenly Anna’s lost sight of Diggity. One minute he was digging furiously, and the next he was nowhere to be seen. A couple of minutes later, Anna’s dad caught sight of some commotion. Anna ran after him. She could forget that image of a two ton furry ball’s paw buried deep in the neck of Diggity. Bright blood streaks were on the creamy fur coat of Diggity. Anna’s dad collected a piece of driftwood and fiercely waggled it in front of the dogs face. But it didn’t work. He again got a bucket of water and threw it at the dog.

Moments later, the tides started coming in. The tides clung to dog and pulling it towards the sea. The dog at last, pulled away. After that Anna’s family quickly drove to the vets, and had Diggity checked out.
