Integer Slam

Walt: adding and subtracting integers that are up to twelve or minus twelve.

Need

A pack of cards with no picture cards

1-3 classmates

How to begin

The first thing you have to do is shuffle the cards.  Deal each player three cards. Turn the the top card of the deck face up.

How to play

• The first player takes the top the deck of cards then puts one card face down into what becomes the ‘unwanted’ pile.

• Each player takes turns to choose from the deck of cards or the unwanted pile.

• When the deck of cards runs out, turn over the unwanted pile, and start a new unwanted pile.

• The winner is the player that has the cards that adds up to 12 or -12.
